چکیده

Zircon U-Pb dating is a powerful and widely used geochronologic technique to constrain the timing rates of magmatic high lower-grade metamorphic processes, as well sediment provenance. trace element (TE) compositions also record processes during zircon growth. In this study, laser ablation split-stream (LA-SS)-ICP-MS TE depth-profiling novel two-dimensional mapping techniques are in combination with oxygen isotope analyses (secondary ion mass spectrometry, SIMS) reconstruct conditions recorded by recrystallization growth rims, which provide valuable insight into petro-tectonic evolution high-pressure/low-temperature (HP/LT) rocks formed subduction zones. These applied grains from HP/LT Cycladic Blueschist Unit (CBU) Basement (CB) on Sikinos Ios islands, Greece, experienced metamorphism deformation associated subsequent back-arc exhumation. records multiple episodes non-magmatic rim at ~50 Ma ~ 26 Ma. Dating of Precambrian Metasedimentary Rocks and Timing of their Metamorphism in the Soursat Metamorphic Complex (NW IRAN): Using LA–ICP-MS, U–Pb Dating of Zircon and Monazite

Soursat Metamorphic Complex (SMC) in west of Takab city is one of the polyphase metamorphic terrenes in northern Sanandaj-Sirjan metamorphic belt of Iran. The SMC composed mainly of metasedimentary rocks associated with granitic intrusions. Based on metamorphic rocks, two metamorphic phases could be separate in the complex. M1 is representative of regional metamorphisms which varies from greens...

Postcollisional mafic igneous rocks record crust-mantle interaction during continental deep subduction

Findings of coesite and microdiamond in metamorphic rocks of supracrustal protolith led to the recognition of continental subduction to mantle depths. The crust-mantle interaction is expected to take place during subduction of the continental crust beneath the subcontinental lithospheric mantle wedge. This is recorded by postcollisional mafic igneous rocks in the Dabie-Sulu orogenic belt and it...

Metamorphic evolution of high-pressure Quartz Schists in the Chadegan metamorphic complex, Sanandaj-Sirjan zone, Iran

The Chadegan metamorphic complex is a WNW-ESE- trending antiformal structure located in Sanandaj-Sirjan structural zone, Iran. The inner core of the structure is made of orthogneiss, containing eclogitic lenses. Schists and marbles lie structurally above theorthogneiss and crop out in the external limbs of the antiformal dome. Two main deformational episodes have been documented in theschists an...

U/Pb and Pb/Pb zircon ages from granitoid rocks of Wallagga area: constraints on magmatic and tectonic evolution of Precambrian rocks of western Ethiopia

The Precambrian rocks in western Ethiopia consist of highand low-grade terranes intruded by granitoids with a wide compositional spectrum. The formation ages of these granitoid rocks are, so far, poorly understood. Single-grain zircon Pb/Pb evaporation and conventional U/Pb dating conducted on four granitoids places time constraints on their emplacement and tectonothermal events. Three granitoi...

Modeling Low-Temperature Geochemical Processes

A model takes on the quality of theory when it abstracts from raw data the facts that its inventor perceives to be fundamental and controlling, and puts these into relation to each other in ways that were not understood before—thereby generating predictions of surprising new facts. Geochemical modeling has become a popular and useful tool for a wide number of applications from research on the f...
